We are constantly
asked about wolfdogs-usually after the purchase. Where can they
get one? How and what do you feed them? How do I get rid of mine
now that (it is too large, we have a new baby, we have no space
for it) etc...
We do not support
the breeding of, nor commerce in, wolf/dog hybrids. We believe (along
with the wolf experts around the world) that the breeding of wolves
with dogs is a threat to the genetic integrity and reputation of
the wolf.().
Wolfdogs have housing needs beyond what the average pet owner can
provide; have more complex nutritional and health needs than the
average pet owner will provide; are behaviorally not adapted for
life within an average pet household; can display predatory, territorial,
sexual and possessive aggression far more frequently than the average
pet and far more escalated than the public imagines.
While there
are examples of well behaved wolf-dog hybrids, they are often low
or no content canines misrepresented by irresponsible breeders.
The net result? Thousands and thousands of wolfdog hybrids, God's
creatures, are being put to death every year!
